Apparently this spot has the heritage of old Geno’s that used to be in Primrose. A place of legendary nights filled with Portuguese seafood, pregos and trinchado. Many years ago when many people who are now passed on still walked the earth we would go as a large group and eat great meals while having great fun.
Back then I didn’t really eat prawns and I’ll never forget an uncle sucking the open end of a prawn’s head while the front feet and face poked out from his mouth like some kind of horror movie creature climbing out of his face. When I do eat prawns now I’m not one to repeat the trick.
Nowadays my objective is to try something simple that has comparable options at other places. This is often a chicken burger or similar. At Tony G’s I decided to go with the chicken prego – having recently had similar versions in other locations. The chicken prego holds up and paired with a craft beer of unknown origin or design, it’s a good meal on a sunny afternoon. The service was good and the prices were reasonable. Check it out on Google maps.
